Happy New Year District 7 Friends,

The New Year brings new beginnings, fresh ideas and challenging resolutions, basically a start-over button. I always liked the New Year because it gave me a chance to refresh my goals and reflect on the past year. I would see things that I can improve upon, including making new goals to establish new challenges for the future.

I challenge all of you to really look back on things that each of us could have done better and resolve ourselves to do more this year. Make goals that are attainable and will push you to be a better person/leader/citizen.

We are all so fortunate we live and work where we do. Many folks arent as fortunate to be able to control their own destiny or make a difference. Make every day count! Make a difference in someones life! Strive to be the best at what you do or care about. That is my New Years resolution.

We are involved in pivotal times for our ad clubs. ADDY season is upon us. I really love some of your themes and formats youre presenting this year. Very creative, I must say! If I or any one of the Executive Committee can assist you this year, please don't hesitate to contact us. If you experience any issues during ADDY season, contact Tim Templeton (National ADDY Awards Representative) or Trudi Mullins (Student ADDY Awards Coordinator). Both have a host of resources to assist you. Best of luck with each of your competitions and dont forget Club Achievement. The books are due February 19, 2010.

One more thing! I read a great article in this week's AAF SmartBrief: Ad Trends to watch for in 2010 - Planning Your Next Move in Ad Land - The Challenges and Pitfalls Ahead for the Industry in 2010. SEE LINK BELOW

Its a great read on the outlook of all areas involved in our industry. I urge you read it.

Sincerely!

Curtis Vann, Governor

The District Executive Committee established the Charlie Malone NSAC Assistance fund
in 2007. The fund was named after former Governor Charlie Malone in honor of his
service to the District and his dedication to students. Voluntary contributions are
collected during the year and are given to the National Student Advertising Competition
(NSAC) team that wins the District competition at Spring Convention.
